Turbidity Sensors
Turbidity sensors measure the turbidity
(amount of suspended particles) of wash water
in washing machines and dishwashers. Measuring the turbidity of water within a dishwasher and washing machine allow the machines to run more efficiently by adjusting the amount of water needed for specific cycles, providing a time and energy savings. The sensor utilizes two opposing photo diodes/TR to detect the cloudiness or haziness of a fluid caused by individual particles that are generally invisible to the naked eye, similar to smoke in air.
