REACH is a new European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The new law entered into force on 1 June 2007.
The REACH Regulation gives greater responsibility to industry to manage the risks from chemicals and to provide safety information on the substances.
Our approach to REACH (Regulation 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals adopted by the European Union in December 2006) is being addressed in accordance with our commitment to environment, health and safety excellence.
We have been closely following the legislative development of REACH. We are working with our suppliers to identify any potential implications of REACH on the availability of materials. Furthermore, GE Sensing and Inspection Technologies has started to prepare (where necessary) for the pre-registration of those substances we manufacture or import.
Until such information is available, please contact us if you have product specific questions concerning REACH

Product SVHC Compliance Status
The table below will be regularly updated for product status with regards to Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as published by the European Chemical Agency (ECHA). We will monitor the SVHC candidate list for updates and will inform customers immediately if any SVHC's above 0.1% w/w are identified in our articles.

These products generally do not contain any of the 15 substances
classified as SVHC published in the ECHA candidate list on 28th October 2008.
However, a few devices may contain one SVHC 4,4’-
Diaminodiphenylmethane (cas no. 101-77-9) due to the application environment.
As a percentage of product weight for a typical sensor the content of the above SVHC would be less than 0.002%. |
