GE Launches RF Solution for Steam in Place Applications At Interphex

Billerica, Mass. – March 10, 2009. — GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies is launching the new Kaye RF ValProbe® 1.1 at its booth (# 2300) at the Interphex exhibition March 17th – 19th 2009 in New York. This new solution integrates the powerful RF Mesh networking capability with temperature and pressure measuring capability suitable for easy Steam-In-Place (SIP) applications. With the addition of the highly accurate pressure transducer, thin stainless steel temperature probes and smart RF mesh technology, the Kaye RF ValProbe® is now the ideal system for SIP studies, which find application wherever equipment such as large tanks and immobile piping is sterilized in place by the passage of pressurized steam. SIP is used throughout the pharmaceutical, dairy, beverage and biotechnology industries.

The Kaye RF ValProbe® version 1.1 system permits up to 100 distributed nodes, measuring both temperature and pressure. The system allows large SIP systems to be validated or re-validated in single large sections without the need for repeated SIP studies. The temperature sensor is a precision small diameter bendable type RTD designed to permit easy access to pipes and vessels through gaskets. The temperature probe remains in place and can be fed along pipe work or placed into stainless vessels or filter bodies.

Easy connection to high accuracy Kaye Pressure transducer which is designed for 121C and 134C operation and comes with a calibration certificate compliant to ISO 17025 at these extended temperatures. Powered externally, easy to connect and simple to configure with the RF ValProbe® software this is a perfect solution for the harsh environment applications such as steam sterilizers and Steam in Place Applications.
