GE Introduces PM880 AC Portable Hygrometer
Billerica, Massachusetts, June 28, 2005 - GE Industrial, Sensing, a leading provider of moisture measurement technologies, announces the availability of the PM880 AC portable hygrometer. The PM880 AC is designed for users with a need to monitor trace moisture in gases or non-aqueous liquids on a continuous basis in non-hazardous areas. Suitable applications include air separation plants, gas cylinder preparation and filling, transformer oil, and general plant or facility maintenance.
The PM880 AC is batttery-powered portable moisture analyzer that can be plugged into AC power for longer term, semi-permanent applications. The PM880 AC system consists of the moisture analyzer, moisture probes, cables and accessories-all packaged into a durable soft carrying case for portability and ease of use. Equaling the performance of GE’s permanent fixed installation moisture analyzers, the PM880 AC uses any of the company’s aluminum oxide moisture sensors, including MISP, TF, or M-Series moisture probes, for continuous real time moisture, temperature, and pressure measurement in gases and non-aqueous liquids. All moisture probe calibrations are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
“The PM880 AC’s advanced features and capabilities nicely round out
our line of portable
moisture analyzers,” said John Kerney, industrial segment marketing
specialist. “Adding AC power, we’re able to bring the advanced functionality
of the successful PM880 to customers with permanent and semi-permanent
installation requirements.”
An intuitive user interface employs a graphical/matrix screen that can display up to four parameters simultaneously. The PM880 AC contains a data logger capable of storing up to 60 log or site files. Additionally, an infrared (IrDA®) interface provides for easy data transfer to a computer and has an optional hand-held sample system to facilitate the measurement.
