GE Introduces the PanaFlow Meter System™
Waltham, MA - June 18, 2004 - GE Infrastructure Sensing, a leading manufacturer of flowmeters, hygrometers, and oxygen and gas analyzers, today introduced the PanaFlow Meter System, a standardized, wetted ultrasonic flowmeter. It uses off-the-shelf flowmeter body designs with options for one- or two-path ultrasonic transducers, and local or remote flowmeter electronics.

The PanaFlow Meter System is designed for applications such as natural gas, fuel gas, hydrocarbon liquids or gases, solvents, weak acids, water, and saturated or superheated steam. Available in pipe sizes ranging from two inches to 24 inches, it handles liquids, gases and steam. Two-path design meters for pipes greater than four inches deliver greater accuracy by using two ultrasonic transducer paths to interrogate the flow profile.

The PanaFlow Meter System offers the benefits of ultrasonic flow measurement, including no pressure drop, no moving parts to replace and extremely low maintenance. The durable design of the flowmeter makes it perfect for permanent installation in the rugged environments of the chemical, oil and gas industries.

"We´ve been selling wetted ultrasonic flowmeters over the past few years as custom-engineered products," said Paul Ceglia, flowmeter product line manager for GE Infrastructure Sensing. "The PanaFlow Meter System is our first step in trying to provide a standardized, high-quality product that can be easily quoted and quickly supplied at a price that will fit a market need for standardized wetted flowmeter systems.".
