GE’s HygroTrace Selected as Technology Innovation Showcase Winner for 2007 SemiCon West - Moisture Meter also receives UL508 Certification in U.S. and Canada.
Billerica, MA – June 22, 2007.
GE Sensing’s HygroTrace moisture meter has been selected for the Technology
Innovation Showcase at the 2007 SemiCon West show, which takes place
in San Francisco, Calif., July 17-19. The Technology Innovation Showcase
spotlights companies with new, innovative products that approach solving
industry challenges in wafer processing, test, assembly & packaging
and emerging technologies (nanotechnology, MEMS).
GE’s HygroTrace was selected by SemiCon West because of the its novel, patented measurement technique using traditional aluminum sensor technology to deliver speed of response that had not before been achievable in the 0-100 parts per billion (PPB) range with this type of technology.
HygroTrace also received UL508 certification, an Industrial Control Equipment certification. UL508 is recognized in both the U.S. and Canada and is widely used by cabinet shops putting together systems comprised of various products listed to UL508.
“We are very proud of HygroTrace’s UL508 certification and its selection for the SemiCon West Technology Innovation Showcase,” said John Kerney, GE Sensing Global Product Manager for Gas & Moisture. “The recognitions demonstrate HygroTrace’s advanced technology and high quality performance.”
Moisture measurement in low PPB measurement ranges for ultra-high purity (UHP) gases is critical to a variety of semiconductor, LCD and other manufacturing processes. HygroTrace uses a patented technique to provide accurate and reliable measurement for 0-100 PPB moisture levels with the sensitivity and speed of response matched only by current technology analyzers that are much larger in size and more expensive in price. Typical semiconductor applications include measurement of moisture in UHP gas delivery and distribution systems and point-of-use moisture measurement protection.
HygroTrace
uses aluminum oxide technology with a newly patented technique that
vastly improves sensor speed of response to provide PPB moisture measurement
in minutes. Additionally, HygroTrace has the form factor of a transmitter
package with the only wetted parts being essentially a flow-through
¼" VCR tee fitting. The HygroTrace package is 80-90% smaller than
competitive analyzers and costs 50-70% less.
HygroTrace features a large integrated backlit display, which users can easily read from several feet away. An integral six-button keypad allows users to program various parameters and to perform diagnostic tests. The unit is powered using a 20-28 VDC source and provides a 4-20 mA output proportional to a user-programmed range.
