GE Sensing Awarded Dushanzi Petrochemical Project Contracts in China
Shanghai, China – May 31, 2007. A leading innovator of advanced
sensing solutions, GE Sensing was awarded a three-year purchase contract
for Ultrasonic
Flow Meters, Moisture
Analyzers and Oxygen
Analyzers in China’s largest petrochemical project, the Xinjiang
Dushanzi Project. .
This selection recognizes GE Sensing as the sole supplier of the above-mentioned products in the Dushanzi project, with a total value of more than $3 million. Owing to its innovative and high-quality products, well-recognized expertise and rich experience in oil and gas field, GE Sensing distinguished itself in fierce competition with other international companies, and won three consecutive orders in this flagship project for China’s petrochemical industry.
The Dushanzi project marks another strong milestone of GE Sensing’s business growth in China, and looks to benefit GE Sensing’s future sales into China petrochemical segment. With a total investment of US$ 3.8 billion, it is the largest petrochemical project thus far in China, with 10 million-tons of petroleum refinery and 1 million-tons of ethylene capacity.
The Dushanzi project, which began in 2005 and is scheduled to for completion in 2008, is an important part of a big energy cooperation framework agreement between China and Kazakhstan.
