Hurricane Katrina Recovery - Help from your friends at GE Sensing

Billerica, Massachusettes, September 7, 2005 - Dear Valued Customer,

In this time of recovery from the events of the past week, the employees, family, and friends of GE Sensing want to extend our hopes that you have made it safely through the difficult hurricane Katrina that disrupted the lives and businesses in your area.

We expect that your instrument assets are something that you will be looking at in the coming weeks as you attempt to clean up and restart your business operations. We also expect that you will need assistance in determining what aspects of your instrument installations require service. To that end, we want to extend an offer to you for a free on-site evaluation by one of our local sales or service engineers. Simply contact us when you are ready and we'll do our best to get to your site as soon as possible.

Actions we are taking:
  • We are appraising our service staffing levels to ensure enough local presence to assist you when you need us.
  • We have supplied twenty Protimeter SurveyMaster Dual-Mode Moisture Meters used in building restoration applications to our valued distributor Dri-Eaz who is preparing a trailer shipment of their drying equipment used in building restoration.
  • We are also assessing expected instrument spare parts requirements with our sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams to insure we can supply spare parts in a timely fashion.

Other actions GE is taking:
  • GE is donating $5M in cash and $10M in equipment and services to the Katrina disaster relief effort. For more information, see this link.
